Science in Sport Beta Fuel is a high-carbohydrate energy drink long favoured by elite endurance athletes. Each sachet delivers 80g of carbohydrate in a dual-source blend designed to boost carbohydrate absorption while keeping the stomach settled. Mix one sachet into water, shake and sip.
What's in it
- 80g carbohydrate per 82g sachet
- Maltodextrin to fructose in a 1:0.8 ratio, a glucose and fructose dual-source blend. SiS reports this ratio increases the proportion of ingested carbohydrate that is oxidised compared with a 2:1 blend
- Isotonic-style formulation with a subtle flavour and sweetness to reduce flavour fatigue; vegan friendly
- Flavours: Lemon & Lime, Orange, Red Berry, Strawberry & Lime
When to use it
- Long, hard sessions and races of two hours or more: marathon, long-course triathlon, road racing, gran fondos
- Training where you need to rehearse high carbohydrate intakes of 80-120g per hour
- Hot days, when fuel and fluid in one bottle is easier than gels alone
How to use it
Add one sachet to about 600ml of water and shake until dissolved. Drink in small, frequent sips, aiming for one sachet per hour. To reach 80-120g of carbohydrate per hour, combine with SiS Beta Fuel gels or chews. Build up gradually in training.
