Maurten Gel 100 Caf 100 is the same race-proven hydrogel gel as Gel 100, with 100mg of caffeine added. Each sachet delivers 25g of carbohydrate and a caffeine hit that Maurten compares to roughly one cup of brewed coffee, in a neutral-tasting gel built from simple ingredients.
What's in it
- 25g carbohydrate (about 100 kcal) per sachet
- 100mg caffeine per sachet
- Fructose and glucose in a dual-source blend that supports higher carbohydrate absorption per hour
- Hydrogel Technology: no colours or preservatives, no need to wash the gel down with water
When to use it
- The second half of a marathon, half marathon or triathlon run leg, when you want a lift in focus and effort
- Early morning or late-day races where you'd normally reach for a coffee
- Long training days where you want to practise your caffeine timing
How to use it
Use it where you want the caffeine to land, typically 30-60 minutes before the point in the race you expect to need it, and alternate with plain Gel 100 to manage your total caffeine. Tally your intake across the whole day, including any pre-race coffee, and test your tolerance in training first.
Good to know
- Caffeine isn't suitable for everyone; avoid if you're sensitive, pregnant or breastfeeding
- Tear-open sachet; gels count as liquid in hand luggage
